Dr. Alan Blaine of Starkville has been named the winner of Farm Bureau’s
Distinguished Service Award for 2007 at the organization’s annual
meeting on November 29.
Dr. Blaine currently serves as the Head of the North MS Research and
Extension Center in Verona. He is recognized as one of the top soybean
specialists in the United States.
Farm Bureau President David Waide said, “Dr. Blaine has worked
closely with Farm Bureau over the years to develop soybean policy that
has been beneficial to soybean producers and has given numerous soybean
reports and workshops for many Farm Bureau groups.”

Award and also the Discussion Meet several times. When not involved in
the judging, he often recommends and assists contestants in the contest.
